Where Can You See Fireworks in Kern County This Year?

UPDATE- Tehachapi on Wednesday announced that they have cancelled this year’s event due to COVID restrictions

While most public fireworks displays have been cancelled this year, there are still a few that you can still check out. Although, it will a very different experience from previous years.

TAFT
The Taft Chamber, City of Taft, and West Side Recreation are putting on a Drive-In Fireworks display on July 4th at Franklin Field. Attendees are asked to stay in their cars and there will be no food or drink vendors and restrooms will remain closed. The Taft Chamber is asking for donations for the show and is also providing VIP parking spots on their website. Click here for more information.

BUTTONWILLOW
A drive-by fireworks display will happen on Friday July 3rd at Buttonwillow Park at 556 Milo Avenue. Attendees must stay in their vehicles and remain 6 feet apart. The playground and bathrooms in the park will be closed and there will not be any vendors. Fireworks will shoot off at 9PM.

Cancelled Events
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous regular firework displays have been cancelled this year. Those include the Bakersfield Park at Riverwalk, Lake Isabella, Ridgecrest, Tehachapi and Shafter.
