The Most Popular Christmas Song in California is…

…probably not what you would expect. Now that Halloween has passed, we must brace ourselves for the avalanche of Christmas music.

Personally, I am not a huge fan of Christmas music. I never really have been, but when you work in radio for so long and occasionally get surrounded by stations playing Christmas music 24/7…well, you get sick of it.

For me, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” really is the best. The weird, bootleggy My Chemical Romance version is pretty great too.

Anyway, a new poll shows that California’s favorite Christmas song is “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).” I see these results and don’t buy it. And “Carole of the Bells?” Friggin’ TERRIFYING.
