Random Fact: There Are More Cows in Montana Than Humans

Whenever I hear about a celebrity taking off to Montana, I immediately assume it’s because the state is kind of empty. In fact, there are more cows in Montana than there are humans!

From Montana Kids:

Agriculture is an essential part of Montana’s economy. Of the livestock portion, cattle make up the largest fraction. In fact, there are 2.6 million head of beef cattle in Montana. That means there are about three head of cattle for every human in the state of Montana. This makes Montana sixth in the United States for total number of beef cattle.

Look, I get it. I like cows more than I like people. If that’s the state where cows are living their best lives because of the lack of people, more power to ’em!
