Free School Lunches Extended Into Next Year

Some good news about school lunches for kids!

The USDA is extending a program that offers free meals to schoolchildren into next year.

The Child Nutrition Program will now run through June 30th of 2022, making  free meals available to students regardless of their ability to pay.  

Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack said that “Students’ success in the classroom goes hand in hand with their ability to access basic needs like healthy and nutritious meals”.

What were your favorite school lunches when you were in school? I loved that weird square pizza and, oh my God, those mashed potato/gravy/veggies thing.
