Based on the hit 1992 film, Deloris Van Cartier witnesses her boyfriend, Curtis, murder one of his gang on Christmas Eve 1978. On the run, Deloris goes to the police and Eddie, the head detective, decides to hide her in a Philadelphia convent. There Deloris proceeds to turn the place upside down by joining the choir.
