California Orders Closures of Indoor Operations in 18 Counties Including Kern

Wednesday Governor Newsom announced the closure of certain indoor operations in 18 counties including Kern County.

The orders specifies that indoor restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, family entertainment centers, zoos & museums and card rooms were to close immediately and stay closed for at least the next 3 weeks. In addition, all brewpubs, breweries, bars and pubs in those counties must also close all indoor and outdoor operations. Curbside and outdoor operations are allowed in certain instances.

In a statement, the Governor said “California is seeing the virus spreading at alarming rates in many parts of the state, and we are taking immediate action to slow the spread of the virus in those areas… we bent the curve in the state of California once, and we will bend the curve again. But we’re going to have to be tougher, and that’s why we are taking this action today.”
