On Friday, Apple settled a class-action lawsuit by agreeing to pay up to $500 million to owners of certain iPhone models that the company intentionally slowed down.
According to CNN, people who bought an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, or SE device before December 21, 2017, will be eligible to receive $25 apiece. The lawsuit revolved around the revelation that Apple used software updates to slow the older iPhones down so their owners would cave in and buy newer versions of the phone.
