2020 Kern County Fair Has Been Cancelled

The Kern County Fair Board has announced that the 2020 event has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The board had held numerous emergency meetings in the spring and summer to plan finances and a “Plan B” for the event, but the resurgence of cases locally decided the fate on the annual event.

In June, the board already decided to make the usual livestock competition virtual this year while trying to find a way to still hold the rest of the fair on site. The board ultimately decided to put their efforts into the 2021 event.

County fairs in Los Angeles, Ventura, San Diego, San Bernardino and San Mateo had already been cancelled this year.
