13-Year-Old Skateboarder Wins Olympic Gold
Man, nothing makes me feel more unaccomplished than stuff like this. I didn’t even know people that young could participate in the Olympics! This is super cool.
A 13-year-old Japanese skateboarder just made Olympics history – as one of the youngest gold medal winners ever.
Nishiya Momiji won gold in the women’s street skateboarding event, making her the youngest gold medal winner since 1936.
The silver medal winner, Brazil’s Rayssa leal, is also 13 years old. Bronze medalist medalist Funa Nakayama of Japan is the grizzled old veteran of the group – she’s 16.
